Danny Verdecchia and Derek Eoff teamed up to win the MAST doubles event at Sport Bowl in Middleton Saturday, completing their run with a 485-436 victory over Tim & Jim Fosdick in the title match. The victory was Eoff’s 3rd MAST title this season and 7th overall, and Verdecchia’s first title.
Verdecchia and Eoff earned $1140 for the win, with the Fosdick’s taking home $598 for second. The other payouts were $386 for 3rd-4th, $264 for 5th-8th, $148 for 9th and $146 for 10th.
Thirty-nine teams competed on Sport Bowl’s house shot. The cut to match play after eight games of qualifying was 1832. Verdecchia (937) and Eoff (1106) led qualifying with 2043, narrowly edging out the 2039 total from Gregg Williams (1034) and Herb Kimpel (1005). Eoff’s 1106 four-game set included two of the day’s four honor counts (300-848) and was the high individual qualifying score, earning him 25 bonus points in the M&J Truck and Auto Points Race. The other two honor counts on the day were 300’s from Kimpel and Jeff Prein.
Badger Pro Shop provided a Motiv Paranoia bowling ball at cost, won by Chad Kuehmichel. Sean Short with Capitol Tire added $300 to the tournament prize fund. Host center Sport Bowl added three $10 gift cards, won by Chris Gibbons, Becky James, and Sam Manderino.
