Chris Gibbons defeated Chris Pounders 254-223 to win the Survivor finals at the MAST event at Rock River Lanes in Fort Atkinson Sunday. Gibbons qualified 12th at 867, then averaged over 250 over four rounds of survivor play en route to the win, his sixth career MAST title.

Gibbons earned $645 for the victory, with Pounders taking home $357 for second. The other survivor-round payouts were $228 for 3rd-4th, $173 for 5th-8th, and $133 for 9th-12th. The win also earned Gibbons an additional $305 from the Bet To Win pot. Gibbons’ victory vaulted him to the season lead in average, earnings and points with one event remaining.

Sixty-three bowlers competed on the 40-foot Kegel Sphinx oil pattern. After four games of qualifying the cut to match play was 853. Pounders led qualifying at 953 and will receive an additional 25 points in the M & J Truck and Auto Points Race. The Sphinx pattern did not yield any honor counts on the day.

Tour co-sponsor M & J Truck and Auto Repair added $300 to the tournament prize fund for this event. Rock River Pro Shop donated a Radical Xeno bowling ball, won by Harley Aumann. Host center Rock River Lanes provided a lineage discount, and added three $10 gift cards won by Amber Kwiecien (2) and Zack Green. Combined proceeds from these resulted in $632 added to the tournament’s prize fund. MAST extends a huge Thank You to our sponsors Rock River Lanes, Rock River Pro Shop, and M & J Truck and Auto Repair for their generosity.

Our final regular event of the 2016-17 season will be Saturday, March 11th at Ten Pin Alley in Fitchburg as MAST hosts our first Riggs Classic. The tournament will feature both long and short oil patterns using Kegel’s 47-foot Statue of Liberty and 35-foot Boardwalk. Jeff Richgels and 11thFrame.com will be adding $300 to the prize fund for this event. We hope to see you all there.
