Nathan Michalowski defeated Chris Hill 258-243 to win the stepladder final at the MAST Year-End invitational tournament at Village Lanes in Monona Sunday. Michalowski averaged over 228 in winning ten of his twelve matches in round-robin match play to climb from sixth to first and claim the top seed in the stepladder. Hill averaged over 220 in nine match wins in round-robin play to climb from fifth to third, and defeated Tim Janz 198-179 and Derek Eoff 204-190 to reach the final.
Michalowski earned $1,200 for the win, his third career MAST title and second this season, having also won at Dream Lanes in October. Hill took home $850 for second. The other match play payouts Sunday were Eoff $730 for third, Tim Janz $640 for fourth, Dave Beres $560 for fifth, Brent Ritchie $490 for sixth, Tim Morris $430 for seventh, Chris Pollentier $380 for eighth, Joe Janz $340 for ninth, Cody Ramsden $310 for tenth, Mark Newkirk $290 for eleventh, and Calvin Akers $280 for twelfth.
