Gail Myers and Derek Eoff defeated Andy Bunkoske and Tim Janz 436-362 to win the Survivor finals at the MAST doubles event at Village Lanes in Monona Sunday. This was the 16th career title for Myers and the ninth for Eoff, and also marked the fourth doubles title for the duo.
Myers and Eoff earned $1,220 for the win, with Bunkoske and Janz taking home $672 for second. The other survivor-round payouts Sunday were $424 for 3rd-4th and $280 for 5th-8th. MAST also paid two additional cash spots for 9th ($160 to Jeff Richgels and Chris Pounders) and 10th ($158 to Keith Kroll and Brody Green).
Eighty-four bowlers competed on Kegel’s 45-foot Route 66 oil pattern. After eight total games of qualifying, the cut to survivor-round play was 1686 (Bunkoske & Janz). Ken Duffield was the high individual qualifier on the day with 991; he will receive 25 bonus points in the M & J Truck and Auto Points Race. The pattern yielded no honor counts on the day.
Tour sponsor Bob Holzbauer and Phoenix Pro Shop donated a pair of bowling balls for this event, a Roto Grip® Winner won by Ralph Hibbard and a Storm® Code X won by Matt Midlikowski. Host center Village Lanes provided a lineage discount and added four $10 gift cards, won by Chris Pollentier, Jim Ring, Larry Tripamer, and Harley Aumann. Combined proceeds resulted in an additional $736 for the tournament’s prize fund. MAST extends a huge Thank You to Phoenix Pro Shop and Village Lanes for their generosity.
Our next event will be Saturday, October 6th at Prairie Lanes in Sun Prairie. We will be using the USBC Blue pattern currently used by Prairie’s junior league. We hope to see you all there.
