Trace Ermey and Eric Liphart led qualifying at 1,892 but fell in the opening round of survivor play. Ermey was the high individual qualifier Saturday with a 1,088 set which included two honor counts (268-290-300 = 858) and a string of 25 consecutive strikes; Ermey earns twenty-five bonus points in the M & J Truck and Auto Points Race for his effort. The day’s other honor count came from Mike Hoffman who opened his qualifying set with a 300 game.
Tour co-sponsor Bob Holzbauer and Phoenix Pro Shop donated an Ebonite Vortex V2 bowling ball at cost, won by Dal Geitz. Host Jeremy Porter and Lake Ripley Lanes donated $250 directly to the prize fund, provided a lineage discount, provided an entry in their upcoming 3-Person Team Tournament (entry won by Lindsey Conklin), and drink chips won by Zack Green, John Johnson, Matt Ruhland, and Dustin Vasey. Combined proceeds resulted in an additional $624 in the tournament’s prize fund. MAST extends a huge Thank You to Phoenix Pro Shop and Lake Ripley Lanes for their generosity.
