Nick Powers and TJ Dunn defeated Wade and Gabe Staude 471-382 to win the Survivor finals at the MAST doubles event at Rock River Lanes in Fort Atkinson Sunday. This marks Dunn’s third career MAST title and third this season, and the first career title for Powers.
Powers and Dunn qualified sixth at 1,800, and averaged over 480 through three rounds of Survivor play en route to the win. Staude and Staude led qualifying at 1,941, and averaged over 466 through their first two rounds of Survivor play to reach the finals.
Powers and Dunn earned $840 for the win, with Staude and Staude taking home $558 for second. The other Survivor round payouts Sunday were $340 for 3rd-4th and $246 for 5th-8th. Powers and Dunn also won $330 from the Bet to Win pot.
The cut to eighth after eight games of qualifying was 1,788. Gabe Staude was the high individual qualifier at 1,060 including the day’s only honor count with 836 (279-288-269), earning him fifty bonus points in the M & J Truck and Auto Points Race.
Tour co-sponsor Ten Pin Alley Pro Shop donated at Roto Grip Rockstar bowling ball at cost, won by Kevin O’Brien. Host center Rock River Lanes added three $15 gift cards, won by Mark Newkirk, Nick Peterson, and Kevin Thompson. Total proceeds resulted in $196 added to the prize fund for this event. Our last stop of the 2024-25 regular season will be at Leisure Lanes in Monroe on Sunday, March 16th. This will be a singles event contested on Leisure’s house pattern. Qualifying starts at 11:30am. We hope to see you all there.
