Devon Boeck defeated Chris Gibbons 280-234 to win the MAST event at Leisure Lanes in Monroe Sunday.
This was Boeck’s fourth career MAST title and second this season, havingn also with Dylon Wilde to win the doubles event at Prairie Lanes in November. Gibbons was seeking his thirteenth title.
Boeck qualified sixth at 933, and averaged 255 through match play en route to the win. Gibbons led qualifying at 972, and averaged over 252 in his first two matches to reach the final.
Boeck earned $397 for the win, with Gibbons taking home $274 for second. The other match-play payouts Sunday were $176 for 3rd-4th, $140 for 5th-8th, and $107 for 9th-12th.
Forty bowlers competed on Leisure’s house pattern. The two finalists accounted for the day’s only honor scores, with Gibbons shooting 300 in his third qualifying game, and Boeck posting a 300 game in his semifinal match.
Tour co-sponsor Matt Maly and M & J Truck and Auto added $300 to the prize fund for this event. MAST extends a huge Thank You to M & J Truck and Auto for their generosity.
This concludes our 2024-25 regular season. TJ Dunn finishes the season leading the tour in earnings ($1,622) and points (1,546). Gibbons’ runner-up finish Sunday along with the fifty bonus points for leading qualifying vaulted him to second place in the M & J Points Race at 1,520.
The top ten points earners will be recognized during our two-day Year End Invitational tournament at Schwoegler’s Entertainment Center April 5th & 6th. That event will be contested on the 41-foot 2023 PBA McEwan oil pattern (linked here). Bowlers will bowl eight games of qualifying Saturday, with the top twelve advancing to round-robin match play and stepladder finals on Sunday. Competition starts at 11:30am both days.
