Jones Wins At Rock River For Second Title

Ethan Jones defeated AJ Powers 279-171 to win the MAST event at Rock River Lanes in Fort Atkinson Sunday.

Jones led qualifying at 926, then averaged 235 through match play en route to the win, his second title this season.

Powers qualified third at 900, and averaged 215 in his first two matches to reach the final. He was seeking his first career MAST title.

Jones earned $584 for the win, with Powers taking home $317 for second. The other match play payouts Sunday were $231 for 3rd-4th, $146 for 5th-8th, and $122 for 9th-12th. Jones also earned $150 from the Bet to Win pot.

Thirty-six bowlers competed on the 36-foot 2025 PBA Ballard oil pattern. The cut after four games of qualifying was 838. There were no honor counts posted Sunday.

Matt Olson and Braxion Software served as our title sponsor for this event, adding $300 to the tournament’s prize fund. Storm donated a Roto Grip Rockstar Amped bowling ball, won by Derrick Pernot. Host center Rock River Lanes added three $10 gift cards, won by Chad Kuehmichel, Mark Newkirk, and Jeff Prein. Total proceeds resulted in $485 added to the prize fund for this event.
