Hoffman Wins Watertown For Twenty-Fifth MAST Title

Mike Hoffman defeated Jim Ring 256-184 to win the MAST event at Watertown Bowl 18 in Watertown Sunday, earning him his twenty-fifth career MAST title and third this season.

Hoffman qualified second at 1,029 including the day’s only honor count with 804 (270-297-237), and averaged over 246 through match play. Ring qualified fifth at fifth at 979, and averaged over 243 through his first three matches to reach the final.

Hoffman earned $541 for the win, along with $155 from the Bet to Win pot. Ring took home $309 for second. The other match play payouts Sunday were $193 for 3rd-4th, $129 for 5th-8th, and $103 for 9th-16th.

Fifty bowlers competed on Watertown Bowl’s house shot. The cut after four games of qualifying was 905. Ethan Jones shot 279 in his final qualifying game to overtake Hoffman as leading qualifier for the event, earning him fifty bonus points in the Pabst Points Race.

Storm donated a Concept bowling ball at cost, won by Gail Myers. Host center Watertown Bowl 18 added two gift cards, won by Kaiden Storck and Nick Tanin. MAST extends a huge Thank You to our sponsors for their generosity.

This concludes our 2025-26 regular season. Hoffman’s victory vaults him to the top of the Pabst Points Race with 1,962 points, as well as high earner & high average for the season.

Unofficial Final Standings

Our Pabst Light Year End Invitational event will be held at Spartan Bowl in McFarland on Saturday, April 11th, with qualifying starting at 10:00am. MAST tournament directors are contacting eligible bowlers regarding their availability. We are trying out a format change this season. There will be six games of qualifying, with the top twelve qualifiers advancing to a regular match play bracket, and the top four seeds awarded a first-round bye. Matches will be two games each with higher total pinfall advancing to the next round. We hope to see you all there.
