Powers, Albrecht Win Lake Ripley Doubles For First MAST Titles

Caitlin Powers and Tristian Albrecht defeated Kadan Jablonski and Kaiden Storck 518-413 to win the MAST doubles event at Lake Ripley Lanes in Cambridge Saturday, earning the pair their respective first career MAST titles. With the win, Powers unofficially becomes the third woman to earn a title in our tour’s thirty-seven seasons, joining Becky Sennhenn in 2003 and Roxanne George in 2009.

Powers (901) and Albrecht (974) finished qualifying in a three-way tie for third at 1,875, with high-game tiebreakers landing them the fifth seed. They posted games of 461 and 439 in the first two rounds of Survivor play to reach the title match, where Albrecht posted his best game of the day with 290 and Powers added 228 to secure the victory.

Jablonski (870) and Storck (997) qualified sixth at 1,867, with Storck posting the day’s only honor count with 813 (266-278-269). The duo then posted games of 480 and 439 to reach the final.

Powers and Albrecht earned $1,388 for the win, with Jablonski and Storck taking home $736 for second. The other Survivor-round payouts Saturday were $408 for 3rd-4th and $286 for 5th-8th.

Thirty-four doubles teams competed on Lake Ripley’s house shot. The cut to eighth after eight games of qualifying was 1,836. Derek Eoff was the high individual qualifier at 1,045, his third time leading qualifying in our first four events this season, and earned another fifty bonus points in our Pabst Points Race.

Host center Lake Ripley Lanes and Albatross Alley were our title sponsors for this event. Tour sponsor Ten Pin Alley Pro Shop donated a Roto Grip RST Hyperdrive Pearl bowling ball at cost, won by Chris Miller. Lake Ripley Lanes provided a lineage discount and added three $15 gift cards, won by Dylan German, Heath Haug, and Jeff Prein. Total proceeds resulted in $681 added to the prize fund for this event. MAST extends a huge Thank You to all of our sponsors for their generosity.
