In a battle of bowlers seeking to become first-time MAST champions, Brent Ritchie defeated Devon Boeck 249-201 at Ten Pin Alley Saturday to earn his first career title. Ritchie qualified third at 885, then averaged 238 through match play en route to the win. Boeck qualified fifth at 861 and outlasted top-seed Derek Eoff 217-205 to reach the final.
Ritchie earned $349 for the victory, with Boeck taking home $239 for second. The other match-play payouts Saturday were $161 for 3rd-4th and $125 for 5th-8th.
Twenty-seven bowlers competed on the 45-foot PBA Dragon oil pattern. The cut after four games of qualifying was 811. Eoff led qualifying at 917, he earns twenty-five bonus points in the M & J Truck and Auto Points Race.
Tour co-sponsor Matt Maly and M & J Truck and Auto added $125 to the prize fund for this event. Tour co-sponsor Bob Holzbauer and Phoenix Pro Shop provided a Motiv Iron Forge bowling ball at cost, won by Dylon Wilde. Ten Pin Alley added three $10 gift cards, won by Trevor Habich, Jay Heinzelman, and Joe Johnson. Combined proceeds resulted in $177 added to the prize fund for this event.
