Dylon Wilde defeated Todd Kjell 203-201 in the championship match to win the opening event of the 2022-2023 MAST season at Dream Lanes Sunday. Both bowlers were seeking their first career MAST title.

Wilde and Kjell tied for the last qualifying spots at 971, with Wilde earning the 7th seed based on highest qualifying game (279 vs. 257). Wilde shot games of 297 and 288 in his first two matches against Jeff Richgels and Scott McDougal to reach the final, while Kjell posted scores of 228 and 247 against Matt Gannon and Chris Jackson to reach the title match.
Wilde earned $367 for the win, with Kjell taking home $262 for second. The other match play payouts Sunday were $177 for 3rd-4th and $136 for 5th-8th. MAST also paid one additional cash spot of $78 for 9th place to Brent Ritchie (963). Wilde’s victory also earned him $65 from the Bet To Win pot.
Thirty-six bowlers competed on the 2022 Wisconsin State Tournament Team pattern. Gannon led qualifying at 1,053 including the day’s only honor count with 820 (279-288-253) in his first three games, he earns an additional twenty-five points in the M & J Truck and Auto Points Race.
Tour sponsor Bob Holzbauer and Phoenix Pro Shop donated a 900 Global Wolverine Dark Moss at cost, won by Brent Ritchie. Host center Dream Lanes added three $10 gift cards, won by Matt Mysliwiec, Mark Newkirk, and Jenny Wonders. Total proceeds resulted in $132 added to the tournament prize fund.
