Andy Bunkoske and Tim Janz defeated Chad Svendsen and Jon Schalow 462-389 to win the MAST Doubles event at Prairie Lanes Sunday. Bunkoske and Janz led qualifying at 1,967, and advanced through Survivor-round play with games of 440 and 460 en route to the win. This marks the sixth career title for Janz and second for Bunkoske.

Bunkoske and Janz earned $972 for the win, with Svendsen and Schalow taking home $660 for second. The other Survivor-round payouts were $372 for 3rd-4th and $244 for 5th-8th. MAST also paid two additional cash spots Sunday, with $140 going to Jenny Wonders and Todd Kjell (9th – 1,845) and $136 going to Steven Monson and Andrew Olson (10th – 1,828). Bunkoske and Janz also earned $190 from the Bet to Win pot.

Forty-one doubles teams competed on Prairie’s house pattern. The cut to Survivor-round play after four team games of qualifying was 1,855; Mike Hoffman and Ron Blanchar posted a fourth-game score of 493 to climb from 17th to 8th and claim the final qualifying spot. Derek Eoff was the high individual qualifier at 1,010, earning him fifty bonus points in the M & J Truck and Auto Points Race. Despite the high scoring pace, there was only one honor count posted Sunday, with Andrew Olson shooting 300 in the second game of qualifying.

Tour co-sponsor Bill Pounders and Ten Pin Alley Pro Shop donated a Storm !Q Tour 78-U bowling ball at cost, won by Shannon Dins. Proceeds resulted in $261 added to the tournament prize fund. MAST extends a huge Thank You to Ten Pin Alley Pro Shop for their generosity.
