T.J. Dunn defeated Rick Erce 268-223 to win the Survivor finals at Dream Lanes in Madison Sunday, securing his first career MAST title.
Dunn qualified fourth at 992 and averaged over 251 through four rounds of Survivor play en route to the win. Erce qualified 15th at 924 and averaged 252 through the first three rounds of Survivor play to reach the final. Erce was also seeking his first career title.
Dunn earned $489 for the win, with Erce taking home $346 for second. The other Survivor-round payouts Sunday were $195 for 3rd-4th, $132 for 5th-8th, and $112 for 9th-16th. We also had five women bowl in this event, and paid $60 to Brittany Pollentier as the high female qualifier at 911.
Fifty-five bowlers competed on the 43-foot 2023 Wisconsin State Open Championships Team Pattern. The cut after four games of qualifying was 924. Jonathan Schalow led qualifying at 1,013, earning him fifty bonus points in the M & J Truck and Auto Points Race. Schalow and Eric Larson posted the day’s two honor counts with 300 games during qualifying.
